Lower Manhattan Dialysis Center’s doctors have combined expertise in the field of Nephrology for over 75 years! We attribute our excellent patient results to the fact that our doctors are on site at our dialysis centers much of the time. Consequently, they can evaluate and treat patient problems as they may arise. This is not the case in most other dialysis centers. In most other dialysis centers you will seldom be seen by a doctor during your routine treatments. This could make a great difference in your medical care.

Also, you should be aware that our nephrologists are on the staff of some of the most prestigious medical centers in New York, including NYU, Columbia, Cornell and Mount Sinai.  As a matter of fact, patients who are not yet on dialysis often see them for a second opinion.

Patients should know that our Nephrologists, through the meticulous use of medications and diet, have been able to slow the progression of kidney failure and delay the need for dialysis in a high percentage of patients. Some patients who have consulted with them early in their kidney disease process, have avoided progression to End Stage Kidney Failure for more than 20 years! For those patients who were advised that the need to start dialysis was imminent, our nephrologists have been able to postpone the start date of dialysis in some of these patients for months and even longer. Our Nephrologists all have special expertise in home dialysis treatments including both home hemodialysis as well as peritoneal dialysis. They also have expertise in kidney transplantation.
