How to Choose a Dialysis Center

Choose Quality Over Convenience
The convenience of location and transportation while often important considerations, should take a “back seat” when deciding where a patient should be dialyzed.
The patient or the patient’s family should consider fore-most, 2 important statistics before making a final decision: the dialysis center’s rates of mortality and its rates of transplantation. The sooner a patient receives a kidney transplant, the sooner he or she will be off dialysis and can have a better quality of life. And, the chances of survival while one is on dialysis is obviously a key statistic of paramount importance.
